Ruvi Tsimbler's Tismbl Builders' Links
The Instrument Workshop a mail order business to serve the needs of owners and builders of early keyboard instruments. Supplies, parts, tools and plans are available for harpsichords, clavichords, virginals, spinets, and fortepianos, as well as supplies and parts for some non-bowed stringed instruments like harps, hammer dulcimers, sitars etc. The shop also makes custom tools and parts from wood and metal, and repairs and restores historical keyboard instruments. Lutz Baumgart is pleasant to deal with and the prices are great, and the discounts kick in fast. I've ordered a lot of wire from them.
Steve's "Jesus Loves You" Piano Service may seem an odd place for a Jewish instrument builder to shop, but Steve and his family have a wide ranging catalog, great service, and will sell anything to anyone, unlike most piano supply places. One of the few places you can get pin dope. WARNING - A Midi file will start playing when you click through.
Folk of the Wood is where I got the Banjo 5th String Capo I modified to let me switch my high Eb to an E quickly.
Piano Showcase besides an extensive line of parts and tools, these guys will CUSTOM make wound strings for about $18. Or you may find what you need in thier universal replacements, that are only about $10.
