March 26, 1889 A copy of Partick Mulvaney's will. He names Catherine (Katie) Reid executrix, and leaves each of his three sons the sum of one dollar; the remainder of his estate going to Catherine. The most probable reason for this lopsided distribution is that Katie was at this point a widow in her 30s with two small children. She would have needed the money far more than the sons, who were presumably employed or employable. See MMJ 6. When her brother Patick died in 1912, Catherine Mallett paid the bill for the probate. At that time, John Mulvaney was at 64 North Main; Catherine at 444 South Main. So she seemed to be in touch with her brothers at that time; except that we do not know what became of Thomas. From this Jillson deduces that Thomans had already died as of 1912, but he is not buried with his parents as Patrick is.
