Mary Jessie Gillis is a native of Inverness, and
she began playing piano at
the age of five. She learned from Maybelle Chisholm
MacQueen, whose rollicking, powerful approach has
been a strong influence on her style of playing. She
performs and tours with fiddler Jerry Holland.
